I have come to realize that I have very little time for development here. This will all change within the next month to two months. As soon as these Final Exams are over, I will have some time for this. ‘Till then, I will be working on a few minor changes here. So right now not much is going on although the SMS App will still be working.
I updated the UI and once a message has been sent you are notified. Also if the message fails you are informed. The old system is still powering the app, but I will change that some time soon. Happy SMSing!
After quite a bit of searching, I managed to find the old code for the SMS App and was able to restore the actual app. There is just one little downfall, the screen you see after having sent a message, looks… not so nice. I need to fix this, and it probably won’t take long. But again, I need the time. So enjoy!
Working SMS’s again!
Something has happened to the NeetLinks SMS service, Something bad!
I tried to send a few SMS’s at quite a speed, but turns out the app was not a fan. Something went wrong with the reading/writing of the messages. I tried to restore this to an older build, but turns out the build was very old… Now I need to re-write the interface and re-do the whole script so that this doesn’t happen again. I am not sure if I am going to have time now, so this could take a few days to fix.
It sucks, but it was going to happen sometime.
I just started coding for the web. I was reading a little, and doing some work on my own. Then I took on a mini Project.
I have always wanted to send SMS’s from my PC, so where better place to start. I took on the task of making my own application to send Text Messages from my very own website.
I had done some reading, and dived right into it! I am pretty sure it could be done in a “better” way, but mine works just fine, and I use it. The best part for me is that I can send Messages overseas, from my phone or PC, free.
You can find the app at NeetLinks SMS, Its actually pretty simple to use. All you do is type in the desired phone number of the person you wish to receive the message, not forgetting to change the (+27) to the country code of the number you are sending the message to, and then type your message. Press send. And that’s it!
One thing I would like to change is: if you include spaces in the phone number, a problem occurs, I need to sort this out.
Sadly you don’t ever know if the message is truly delivered, that is because my SMS gateway doesn’t support this, so all I can assure you of is that: “your message was sent”
